Causes of Huntington's Disease
Huntington's Disease is inherited genetically through the parents. Because it is an autosomal dominant disorder, that means that if one parent had, the child has a 50% chance of inheriting it. Below is a punnett square showing the probability of the Huntington's gene passing from parent to child. In this diagram, only one parent has the disease.
More recent research has led to the location of the gene. It is found on chromosome four.
